Kazan Taiko recently had a workshop with Kinnara Taiko, the oldest taiko group that’s around in SoCal! They are also the generous organization of Senshin Temple that lets us use their practice space.
Reverend Mas Kodani started us off with a background on Buddhism and philosophies, as well as how it translates into Buddhist taiko drumming. We then went straight to work to learn some basics as well as Kinnara’s most famous song, “Ashura”!
See more photos here.
We had a BLAST learning from Kinnara Taiko and would like to thank them for all of their support!!
Kazan just had its first performance at the Hyatt hotel in Downtown LA for the AREAA 10th Anniversary Celebration! We’re so happy to have been a part of this celebration and we’re off to a great start as an organization!
Check out more photos here!
There will be more performances coming up, and some are on campus as well. Look forward to more details about that, and check out our calendar! 😀
To those who came to our last open practice- THANK YOU! We’re so happy you came to check us out! We hope that you’ll choose to stick with us this year! 😀
